Casey, the 'war on terror' does not end in Iraq. We can debate that war's merits, but the fact that we have increased intelligence / military operations in southern Asia (by quite a bit) is not debatable.
The fact you believe that Al Queda is stronger now, is proof that you watch news sources (like Huffington Post), which have grossly undermined your ability to separate fact from fiction.
The Huffington Post is definitely more left, than Fox News is right. Fox News can at least claim they try to be fair. The Huffington Post wants to disgrace military families by taking pictures of their loved ones in coffins, all for the purpose of pacifism.
Finally, if you don't think Obama pre-screened who he was asking questions to ... Casey, you're a smart guy. You must have picked up on how quickly President Obama would call the next reporter, in line, by full name and company. That sort of behavior screams of planning. The fact he let Major Garret speak was likely just to avoid criticism that he avoids tough questions (which is pretty ironic)

Two things jumped out at me here:

"Secondly, the doubling of national deficit was largely done to support a war on Islamic fundamentalists who..."

Well, with no WMD's, no evidence of a Saddam-9/11 link, and no presence of Al Qaeda in Iraq prior to us invading, I'm not so sure doubling of the national debt by Bush is quite justified. This is made worse by the fact the Taliban and Al Qaeda are growing stronger in Afghanistan & Pakistan because our troops are spread so thin in Iraq. I don't believe we are any safer now than we were the day before 9/11.

"A reporter for the Huffington Post asked … "

I don't see anything wrong with Obama taking questions from a variety of sources. The huffington post is about as left as fox news is right. Plus, he did not pre-screen the questions at his town hall meeting today, something which Bush did do.

Unfortunately, it'll always be an uphill battle trying to convince Americans that they shouldn't vote themselves free stuff.

This is going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better, I'm afraid :(
